Tax attorney Jeremy Black joins McAfee & Taft
Jeremy M. Black, a former senior tax attorney for one of the nation’s largest energy companies, has joined the Tax & Family Wealth Group at McAfee & Taft. His practice is focused on federal, state and local tax planning for public and private corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships and individuals; tax structuring of complex business transactions; and providing general business advisory services to clients in a wide variety of industries.
Black’s corporate tax experience includes structuring various complex joint venture arrangements utilizing both a corporate and partnership form, tax planning around both equity and asset acquisitions and dispositions and other complex merger and acquisition transactions, structuring and administering tax-deferred transactions to maximize both federal and state cash tax savings, and providing guidance on general choice of entity selection and related tax analysis.
Black graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Oklahoma and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He is a member of the Oklahoma City chapter of the Tax Executives Institute, the Taxation Law Section and Energy and Natural Resources Law Section of the American Bar Association, and the Section of Taxation and Section of Environment, Energy and Resources of the American Bar Association.
