McAfee & Taft earned top marks in the 2012 edition of Benchmark Litigation, the definitive guide to America’s leading business litigation firms and attorneys. In addition, 13 of the firm’s attorneys – the most of any law firm in Oklahoma – were singled out for recognition.

Honored as "Lawyer of the Year" for their respective practice areas were Tim Bomhoff, Chris Coleman, Mary Quinn Cooper, Richard Craig, Bruce Crum, Brad Donnell, Cliff Dougherty, Sam Fulkerson, John Hermes, Michael Joseph, John Kenney, Richard Nix, Charlie Plumb, David Stinson and Pete Van Dyke.

Eighty-eight attorneys from McAfee & Taft were selected by their peers for inclusion in the just-released edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, more than any other Oklahoma law firm. Ten McAfee & Taft lawyers have been named to the prestigious list for the first time. 

Seventy-nine attorneys from McAfee & Taft have been recognized in the 2011 edition of Oklahoma Super Lawyers, with 62 lawyers named to its “Oklahoma Super Lawyers” list and another 17 attorneys listed as “Oklahoma Rising Stars.” Sixteen lawyers were recognized as "Top Lawyers."

McAfee & Taft earned top rankings in the areas of corporate/ commercial, energy and natural resources, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation and real estate law and had more lawyers named to the prestigious list than any other law firm in the state.

Describing it as a "win-win-win" for both firms and their clients, McAfee & Taft managing director Richard Nix announced that the state's largest law firm has combined practices with Eldridge Cooper Steichen & Leach, growing to more than 180 lawyers and bolstering its regional and national footprint.

John Kenney was presented the William G. Paul Oklahoma Justice Award by Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma. Richard Riggs received the Oklahoma Bar Foundation's Roger R. Scott Memorial Award and the Distinguished Service Award.

Kathy Taylor, a corporate attorney with McAfee & Taft and the former mayor of the City of Tulsa, has been selected as one of seven Resident Fellows for Harvard University’s Institute of Politics located at the John F. Kennedy School of Government in Cambridge, Massachussets.

McAfee & Taft was among 14 companies recognized as Trailblazers for the Tulsa Area United Way's 2010 campaign, who together raised more than $3.4 million toward the $24 million campaign goal. The firm's Tulsa team surpassed its own previous donation goal by 33 percent.

A federal jury returned a verdict in favor of McAfee & Taft client Eureka Water Company after a four-week trial against Nestle Waters North America, Inc., the world's largest bottled water company. The jury awarded $9.2 million for breach of contract and $5 million for tortious interference with business relations.

Having more than doubled in size since its opening two years ago, McAfee & Taft is excited to announce the move of its Tulsa office to newly renovated and expanded offices in Mapco Plaza, located at 1717 S. Boulder.

Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin appointed McAfee & Taft attorney Rusty LaForge to serve a four-year term as a commissioner on the Uniform Law Commission, also known as the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. He replaced the outgoing commissioner Judge Ralph Thompson.

The City Sentinel published a story highlighting the recently completed renovation of the firm's Oklahoma City offices. The $4 million construction project was performed in 18 phases over 20 months with all professional staff in place during the job.
