McAfee & Taft employees regularly donate their time and resources to a broad range of community organizations that serve the public interest, particularly in the areas of civic, cultural, economic and educational development.
The firm is especially proud of its ongoing relationship with Gatewood Elementary School in Oklahoma City. Since 1999, McAfee & Taft attorneys and staff have served as volunteer tutors, providing the school’s young students with valuable one-on-one attention and learning support. The firm also provides holiday gift packages for each student and sponsors the school’s year-end Super Kids Day celebration.
Over the years, this relationship has expanded. In 2000 the McAfee & Taft Foundation, along with our client and good friend Dolese Brothers Inc., provided a new playground. In 2008, the firm sponsored Life Change, a ballroom dancing program designed to teach fifth-grade students teamwork, sportsmanship, social awareness, confidence, self-esteem, goal setting, the value of hard work, manners, etiquette, trust and mutual respect. Along the way, the kids also learned to dance the fox trot, rumba, cha-cha-cha, swing and salsa.
The following is a sample list of the more than 150 community organizations to which employees of the firm have contributed their time and personal efforts:
