Josh Solberg is a trial lawyer who counsels and represents businesses in all areas of labor and employment law, including litigation matters involving all types of wrongful discharge claims, wage and hour disputes, unemployment claims, employment contracts, and other disputes arising from the employer-employee relationship. His experience includes second-chair management of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and wrongful discharge matters in both federal and state courts, trial and appellate, as well as in arbitration. He also has experience resolving matters before governmental agencies, having represented employers in wage and hour disputes before the Oklahoma Department of Labor and in appellate matters before the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
Josh is a contributing writer to the Oklahoma Employment Law Letter and has been a featured speaker on the topic of the Family and Medical Leave Act at the firm's semi-annual Labor & Employment and Employee Benefits seminars.
In addition to his legal practice at the firm, Josh also serves as a volunteer attorney for Oklahoma Lawyers for Children, a nonprofit organization that uses the time, talent and resources of qualified pro bono lawyers and others to represent and assist children in the Juvenile Division of the Oklahoma County District Court.
An honors graduate from the University of Tulsa College of Law, Josh was named to Order of the Curule Chair, served as editor of the Tulsa Law Review and was a member of the Phi Delta Phi legal honor fraternity. He is the recipient of numerous awards including CALI awards in Advanced Torts, Corporate Law, Constitutional Law, Criminal Law & Administration, International Energy & Natural Resources, Land Use Controls, Legal Reasoning/Analysis/Writing II, Professional Responsibilities, and Property. Additionally, Josh received the F. M. Rowell, Sr. Award in Property Law; George & Jean Price Award in Legal Reasoning, Authorities, and Writing; Judge Thomas Brett Award in Criminal Law; Oklahoma Bar Association Business Associations Section Award in Basic Corporate Law; Pray, Walker, Jackman, Williamson & Marlar Award in Energy Policy; and Phi Delta Phi Professional Responsibility Award.
