As a paralegal for the firm’s intellectual property group, Marcy Ellington is responsible for preparing and filing U.S. and foreign patent applications, trademark applications, trademark responses, trademark renewals and copyright applications; handling maintenance fee payments for U.S. patents and annuities for foreign patents and applications; preparing state trademark registrations; coordinating and preparing documents for intellectual property litigation in both federal court and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; and handling research projects relating to all aspects of intellectual property law.
Marcy began her legal career in 1989, previously working as a legal assistant at several boutique intellectual property law firms and as a legal secretary at a large Oklahoma full-service firm before joining McAfee & Taft in 2005.
Marcy attended Oklahoma State University and has participated in continuing education courses in the area of intellectual property.
