Biography

Paula Hancock represents and advises clients involved in the buying, selling, leasing, financing and registration of aircraft in transactional matters falling under the purview of the Federal Transportation Code, FAA Regulations, FAA Aircraft Registry, Cape Town Convention and International Registry.

Her practice regularly involves the review of FAA records for aircraft, engines and propellers; advising clients regarding title issues as well as liens and encumbrances of record at the FAA; reviewing security agreements, leases, bills of sale and other documents to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and procedures; and advising clients on matters arising under the Cape Town Convention with regard to the filings of interests and prospective interests in aircraft with the International Registry.

Paula also serves as a panel attorney of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association.

Prior to embarking on a legal career, Paula gained valuable insight into the aviation industry while serving as a co-owner and operator of a full-service FBO, flight school and corporate flight management company in Ada, OK.  Upon graduating from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2005, she joined Wichita, KS-based Hinkle Elkouri Law Firm, where her practice encompassed the areas of aviation, business and corporate law.

While in law school, she served as articles editor of the Energy Law Journal, placed first in the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition, and received the CALI Excellence for the Future award in Arbitration.
