Biography

Richard Salamy practices primarily in the areas of business immigration, real estate and commercial transactions, and selected international law issues.

Richard’s immigration practice is focused exclusively on representing employers and employees entering the United States for employment in a variety of professional positions, including healthcare, technology, education and international relief and development.   He also provides guidance to employers on I-9 compliance and audits, as well as Social Security Administration inquiries regarding verification of Social Security numbers.

His experience in real estate transactions includes commercial leasing and the purchase and sale of commercial and residential properties.  His experience in commercial transactions includes a variety of contracts, secured lending, and acquisitions and divestitures of large and small companies.

Richard also assists local companies interested in expanding their market internationally, sometimes combining his experience in immigration law with his experience in commercial transactions. 

Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, Richard spent nearly five years in public service in the Tarrant County District Attorney’s Office in Fort Worth, Texas.

  • Represented local healthcare organizations in bringing internationally-trained nurses to the United States. 
  • Represented small family companies in acquiring or selling their businesses.
  • Represented companies in negotiating distribution and manufacturing agreements domestically and internationally.
  • Represented large and small companies regarding a variety of matters under the Uniform Commercial Code, including the purchase and sale of goods, equipment leasing and secured lending.
