Mary Ellen Ternes will speak about climate change regulation and litigation at the annual meeting of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

This session provides a review and update on the state, national and international legal and regulatory developments regarding greenhouse gas emission voluntary reduction and mandatory control programs. Specifically, this session will review the current and potential future Climate Change Legislation Landscape, including the structure of possible carbon constraints and implementation strategies, in addition to related issues including state and regional program preemption, California programs, EPA’s regulation of Green House Gases (GHG) under various provisions of the Clean Air Act, and also current international GHG mandates impacting US companies doing business overseas. This session will be of particular interest to those interested in research opportunities resulting from legislatively mandated technology forcing as well as regulatory implementation
