Fall 2005 Labor & Employment and Employee Benefits Seminar

An Employer's Guide to "Stayin' Alive" is the theme for this fall's Labor & Employment and Employee Benefits seminar.


Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in their choice of three '70s-themed breakout sessions:

Session I
      Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places: Dealing with harassment and discrimination in the workplace.
      Up Around the Bend:  What's new with welfare plans (and how to avoid future mistakes)
      I Will Survive:  Tips for successfully opposing unemployment compensation claims


Session II
      That'll Be the Day:  The workers' comp laws may be new, but are they improved?
      Mama Told Me (Not to Come) ... To Work:  Analysis and interplay of the ADA, FMLA and workers' compensation laws
      What a Fool Believes:  What the insurance companies don't want you to know about employment practices liability insurance


Session III
      An Eagles Medley on Retirement Plans:
  QDROs, distributions, IRS and DOL voluntary corrections, 401(k) final regulations, Roth 401(k) and EGTRRA restatements
      
Who Are You?:  Using applications, background checks and applicant testing
      
Won't Get Fooled Again:  How to conduct an I-9 audit and handle Social Security number mismatches
