Hard Work Pays Off

Sooner Lawyer Fall/Winter 2008/2009 - December 2008

Trial lawyer Ruth Addison was featured in an article in Sooner Lawyer on her journey to become the youngest graduate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. The Tulsa native, who graduated from law school in 2007 at age 21 and who worked as an assistant district attorney for Tulsa County for several years prior to entering private practice, credits hard work from an early age for her success.

Beginning in the seventh grade, Ruth was home-schooled six days a week, 12 months a year by her father. She entered Oral Roberts University at age 14 and graduated seven semesters later with an undergraduate degree in government while working 20-25 hours a week and staying involved in a variety of campus activities. She began the early admission program at the OU College of Law in May 2004 and graduated three years later.
