McAfee & Taft has further expanded its Aviation Law Group, one of the largest and most experienced of its kind in the United States and one whose reach is global in scope, with the addition of attorneys Brian C. Beatty and Scott M. Smith. Both will concentrate their practices on aviation matters relating to the financing, purchase, sale, leasing and registration of aircraft worldwide.
Brian Beatty
has practiced in the field of aircraft title, registration and financing since 2008. He holds an undergraduate degree in economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Prior to entering private practice, he was a captain in the U.S. Army Field Artillery and served in combat during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Scott Smith
is a 2009 graduate from the Dickinson School of Law at Penn State University and holds a master of laws degree in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, the Chicago native served as a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Elizabeth Crewson Paris of the U.S. Tax Court in Washington, D.C.
