Mona Dahr and Keith Peters Named New Tax Associates

Oklahoma City, OK - December 5, 2006

Mona S. Dahr and Keith E. Peters have joined the law firm of McAfee & Taft as associates whose practices are focused on representing businesses and individuals in taxation and family wealth matters. 

Dahr comes to McAfee & Taft after graduating with her master of laws degree in taxation from New York University, while Peters is currently pursuing his advanced law degree at NYU as an NYU Tax Law Review Scholar and serving as a graduate editor of the legal publication.

Mona Dahr graduated magna cum laude with bachelor’s degrees in both economics and history at Southern Methodist University before going on to earn her Juris Doctor at SMU in 2005 and her master of laws degree from NYU in 2006.

While a law student at SMU, Dahr served as articles editor for the SMU Law Review and as president of the International Law Society.  Her legal experience also includes working as a federal tax clinic student attorney at the SMU Legal Clinic, as an intern for the Honorable Barbara J. Houser of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas, and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Justice Marian P. Opala of the Supreme Court of Oklahoma.

Keith Peters is a 2006 graduate of Harvard Law School, where he chaired HLS TaxHelp, an IRS-sanctioned volunteer program designed to aid elderly and economically disadvantaged taxpayers in the Cambridge, MA, area.  

In 2002, Peters graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor’s degree in accounting.  As an undergraduate, Keith was the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including being named "Outstanding Senior" in the Price College of Business and receiving the "Outstanding Student" award from the Financial Executives Institute.  In addition to being honored as the top accounting student in both his junior and senior years, he also served as president of the Student Business Association, chair of the JCPenney Leadership Program, and as a member of the Price Hall Design Committee.  

Prior to entering law school, Peters was awarded the Gold Medal by the Oklahoma Society of Certified Public Accountants for earning the highest CPA exam score in Oklahoma in May 2003.
