Penni Jones and Joe Bocock Receive Top Honors from COALA

Oklahoma City, OK - June 15, 2005

Two members of the law firm of McAfee & Taft received top honors at the Central Oklahoma Association of Legal Assistants’ recent 2005 Annual Attorney Recognition Luncheon.
 
Penni Jones, a certified paralegal and civil litigation specialist with the firm’s litigation group, was honored as the “2005 Legal Assistant of the Year.”  She is credited with being an outspoken advocate and promoter of the paralegal profession within the community and for playing a key role in the Oklahoma Bar Association Legal Assistant Services Committee’s lobbying efforts to grant paralegals membership to the Oklahoma Bar.  In addition to currently serving as the president of COALA, Jones is also a member of the National Federation of Paralegals Association and the National Association of Legal Assistants. 

Joseph H. Bocock, a shareholder with McAfee & Taft, was recognized as the “2005 Attorney of the Year” for his ongoing efforts in supporting the paralegal profession.   He currently serves as the chairman of the Oklahoma Bar Association Legal Assistant Services Committee and is a frequent author and lecturer on a variety of continuing legal education topics.  His many accomplishments in the area of commercial litigation and arbitration have earned him national recognition in The Best Lawyers in America and the Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.
