Prominent Business Attorney Keith McFall Joins McAfee & Taft

Oklahoma City, OK - July 29, 2008

D. Keith McFall, a prominent business attorney and valued counsel on numerous high-profile transactions throughout Oklahoma, has joined the law firm of McAfee & Taft.

McFall has practiced in Oklahoma City for 26 years, representing entrepreneurs as well as many of the state’s leading privately held and public companies in complex business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, major real estate and development projects and commercial financing. Widely regarded as a skilled negotiator, he also provides ongoing counsel to clients on a myriad of day-to-day corporate governance issues and business concerns.  His extensive career experience extends across a broad range of industries, including banking and finance, real estate development, energy, restaurant and sports.

His achievements in the areas of corporate and banking law have earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Oklahoma Super Lawyers.

Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, McFall was a shareholder and director with Oklahoma City-based Phillips McFall McCaffrey McVay and Murrah, a corporate law firm he co-founded in 1986 and for which he served as managing director for 16 years.

“It is rare to find someone with Keith’s exceptional leadership qualities, background and experience who is willing to transition from one successful firm to another, and we feel very fortunate that he has joined McAfee & Taft,” said Richard Nix, the firm’s managing director. "His reputation within the business community, as well as the quality of his clients, speak for themselves, and we believe his practice is a perfect fit for our firm."

In addition to his active business transactions and counseling practice, McFall is expected to play a key role in further developing the firm’s growing sports industry practice.

“Keith has a well-established sports practice that complements our own. We’re pleased to be able to expand that practice with the addition of Oklahoma City Blazers, Oklahoma RedHawks and Express Sports, the sports management and marketing company that oversees the operations of the PBR Built Ford Tough, Express Rodeo, Oklahoma City Blazers and other premier sports entertainment,” said Nix. “Oklahoma has a rich sports tradition, and it’s exciting to be at the forefront of that industry.

An Oklahoma native, McFall received both his B.B.A. degree in finance and his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma. He is a member of the Oklahoma County Bar Association, the Banking and Commercial Law Sections of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Business Law Section of the American Bar Association.

“While Keith is one of the best lawyers I’ve seen on either side of the negotiating table, he’s an even better person, and we’re lucky to have that type of person and professional join McAfee & Taft,” said Nix. “We believe he adds value both inside the firm and externally to our clients."
