Ledgerwood, Chapman to speak at National Business Institute seminar

Oklahoma City, OK - February 22, 2005

Steven T. Ledgerwood and Stephanie P. Chapman, attorneys with the law firm of McAfee & Taft, will be featured speakers at the National Business Institute’s upcoming “Business and Estate Planning with Limited Liability Entities” seminar scheduled for March 30th in Oklahoma City.

While limited liability companies have fast become an entity of choice for many business ventures because of their tax advantages and flexibility, limited partnerships also provide significant advantages compared to other business structures.  This intermediate-level seminar is specifically designed for attorneys, accountants and other tax and corporate professionals who advise clients on structuring their businesses for maximum benefit.

Ledgerwood, who serves as the chairman of the McAfee & Taft’s Tax and Family Wealth practice group, will speak on the tax advantages and advantageous uses of LLCs and LPs.

Chapman, who practices in the areas of taxation and corporation transactions, will be presenting a comparison of LLCs and LPs to other business entities and reviewing the practical aspects of creating and operating such entities.

The seminar will also cover compliance issues pertaining to the formation, operation and dissolution of LLCs and LPs under Oklahoma state law.

Interested conference participants may register online at http://www.nbi-sems.com/.  The seminar has been pre-approved for 8.0 hours of CLE credit by the Oklahoma Bar Association and has been designed to qualify for 8.0 hours of CPE credit for accountants.
