McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, has named attorneys Bonner J. Gonzalez and Joshua D. Smith as shareholders, effective January 1, 2012. The announcement was made by managing director
Richard D. Nix.
Bonner Gonzalez is a corporate and tax attorney who represents individuals, privately held businesses and public companies in the areas of business and tax planning, tax-advantaged activities, complex business transactions, family wealth and estate planning, and local, state and federal taxation. He has also successfully represented clients in tax disputes with the Oklahoma Tax Commission and Internal Revenue Service. His achievements have earned him inclusion in Oklahoma Super Lawyers' list of "Oklahoma Rising Stars," which recognizes the state’s top up-and-coming attorneys.
Josh Smith is a corporate attorney who practices in the areas of commercial transactions, real estate, corporate and securities law, and taxation. He has represented clients in mergers and stock and asset acquisitions and sales of all sizes as well as various other transactions, including private equity and venture capital investments, real estate transactions, public and private securities offerings, complex 1031 like-kind exchanges, commercial lending transactions, general corporate governance, and regulatory compliance matters. Oklahoma Super Lawyers also named him to its list of "Oklahoma Rising Stars."
