Lu Pender
, a seasoned real estate paralegal, has joined McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm. She brings more than three decades of experience to her role as a legal assistant to attorneys representing the firm’s business clients in large-scale real estate developments and complex commercial transactions throughout the United States. Additionally, she has significant experience in working with the firm’s international clients who have various business dealings in Japan, the Pacific Rim and Europe.
Pender's experience and skills cover the spectrum from entity selection and formation, through all phases of the acquisition, design, financing, leasing, management and closing of the disposition of urban and suburban projects. Specific examples include large office buildings, free standing and multi-story apartment and condominium projects as well as large-scale hotel, resort, recreational and master-planned residential developments.
Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, she worked for some of the largest law firms in the region, directly supporting some of Oklahoma’s leading real estate and commercial transactional attorneys. In addition to Pender’s prior legal experience, she previously played a key role as a principal in the formation and operation of a local real estate residential development company, during which she facilitated the closing of more than $66 million in single family lot and commercial property sales.
