McAfee & Taft, the state’s largest law firm, has expanded its litigation support team with the addition of paralegal Melissa R. Jones.
Melissa provides support to lawyers who represent clients in a broad range of business and commercial disputes, including those involving healthcare issues, Medicare fraud and abuse, business torts, antitrust, insurance coverage and employment matters. In addition to assisting attorneys at trial, she is responsible for preparing and filing pleadings, coordinating depositions and mediations, reviewing and organizing evidentiary and discovery documents, and preparing and organizing documents and exhibits for trial.
Melissa began her paralegal career in 2002 and worked at law firms in Oklahoma and New York City before joining McAfee & Taft in 2010. Her career experience includes work in the areas of commercial real estate and real estate litigation, commercial transactions, administrative law, bankruptcy, business organizations law, appellate law, personal injury, medical malpractice, nursing home defense, transportation and trucking law and professional negligence.
Melissa holds an associate’s degree in legal assistant studies from Rose State College. She is also a member of Central Oklahoma Association of Legal Assistants.
