Patent attorney Ryan Cross joins McAfee & Taft

Oklahoma City, OK - November 29, 2011


McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, announced today that Ryan Cross, a registered patent attorney with more than 20 years experience, has joined the firm. Cross’s practice encompasses all areas of intellectual property law with an emphasis on patent preparation and prosecution, technology transfer and information technology. He also handles intellectual property issues related to mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions.

Cross brings with him 20 years of valuable experience serving as corporate counsel for ConocoPhillips and its predecessor company, Phillips Petroleum Company. While there, his responsibilities included preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patent applications, counseling and drafting intellectual property-related contracts and agreements, and managing a multimillion-dollar patent portfolio. He has also handled disputes over intellectual property rights and managed successful patent infringement litigation.

Cross is a member of the Intellectual Property Section of the Oklahoma Bar Association. He received his bachelor’s degree in physics from Oklahoma State University and earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He also successfully completed all coursework for his master’s degree in physics from OSU.
