McAfee & Taft, the state’s largest law firm, has announced that trial lawyer Suzanne E. Kern has joined its Litigation Group. Her state and federal litigation practice is focused on employment law, complex commercial litigation, and the representation of manufacturers and distributors of automobiles, pharmaceuticals and medical devices, consumer products, and industrial products in the defense of product liability claims.
In addition to her legal practice at the firm, she serves as a volunteer attorney for Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, providing services for eligible low-income individuals and seniors with civil legal problems through the organization’s Courthouse Assistance Program.
Kern is a graduate of the University of Tulsa College of Law and currently serves on the board of directors for the law school’s alumni association, as well as on the executive committee of the Council Oak/Johnson-Sontag American Inn of Court. She also holds a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from the University of Oklahoma and previously worked as a sales representative for a publishing company and for a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company before entering law school.
Kern is also a member of Tulsa’s Young Professionals (TYPROS). In 2012, the Sooner Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation named her to its list of “Tulsa’s 20 New Leaders.”
