Jay Shanker to Speak at Centennial Book Festival on Author-Publisher Contracts | |

OK - May 15, 2007Jay Shanker, a veteran entertainment lawyer with McAfee & Taft, will speak on the topic of current publishing industry trends and author-publisher contracts at the upcoming Oklahoma Centennial Book Festival on Saturday, May 19, at the Oklahoma City University Meinders School of Business. The festival, which runs from 9am to 4pm, is an official Oklahoma Centennial event and free to the public.
Shanker will also team up with Fritz Kiersch, film director and artist in residence at OCU, to critique selected scenes from scripts submitted by festival participants.
Event keynote speaker is author Frank DeFord, senior contributing writer at Sports Illustrated and regular sports essayist for NPR's "Morning Edition." The award-winning reporter has been named "sportswriter of the year" six times by his peers.
