Jim Webb Honored with OBA Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award

Jim Webb
, a shareholder and trial attorney with McAfee & Taft, has been honored with the Oklahoma Bar Association's 2008 Outstanding Pro Bono Service Award. He was nominated by a former pro bono client.  

Webb is actively involved in the Oklahoma City legal and business community and contributes a substantial amount of time providing pro bono legal services on all types of matters, particularly to persons with serious mental and/or physical disabilities. He currently serves as general counsel of Oklahoma Youth Symphonies and as a member of the board of directors of the Center of Family Love in Okarche and the 5207 Western Foundation in Oklahoma City.

He serves as a volunteer attorney for the DHS Safe Haven Program and volunteers his time each week to work directly with transplant patients at the Nazih Zuhdi Transplant Institute at Integris Baptist Medical Center.

Webb is the 2006 recipient of the Oklahoma County Bar Association's Community Service Award. He was also recognized for his professional and civic contributions to the state by being named to the Journal Record's 2008 list of Leadership in Law honorees.

As part of his recent law practice, Webb was one of the lawyers who tried the case on behalf of The Professional Basketball Club, LLC (owner of the NBA's Oklahoma City Thunder) against the City of Seattle. That case led to the team's relocation to Oklahoma City.
