McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, has further expanded its litigation practice with the addition of Richard P. Hix. Widely regarded as one of Tulsa’s leading commercial trial lawyers, Hix has successfully represented clients, including prominent oil & gas and manufacturing companies, in major business litigation in state and federal courts, as well as arbitration, throughout the United States. He also has extensive experience serving as a mediator.
Over the course of his 32-year career, Hix’s practice has encompassed virtually all forms of commercial litigation, including disputes involving breach of contract, Uniform Commercial Code issues, business torts, oil and gas, environmental, tax, class actions, banking, antitrust, insurance, intellectual property, employment, and securities. His expertise extends to all phases of large-scale civil litigation, as well as appeals in both the state and federal court systems, and includes negotiating and assisting in the structuring of settlements of complex multi-party cases.
Hix’s achievements in business litigation have earned him inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Oklahoma Super Lawyers.
In addition to his active litigation practice, he currently serves as an Adjunct Settlement Judge for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma and formerly served for the Tulsa County District Court in the same capacity.
