COALA Selects McAfee & Taft's Sephy Palmerton as 2009 Paralegal of the Year |

Sephy Palmerton, a paralegal with the law firm of McAfee & Taft, has been selected as the 2009 Paralegal of the Year by the Central Oklahoma Association of Legal Assistants (COALA). Palmerton's paralegal career spans more than 20 years and is concentrated in the area of litigation, providing trial support for complex commercial litigation, business disputes, intellectual property law, arbitration and mediation. In addition to having significant experience in all major aspects of trial technology presentation, she has developed significant expertise in imaging and managing complex litigation databases.
COALA was established in 1984 to provide a forum and network of support and assistance for legal assistants/paralegals in the Oklahoma City metropolitan area. The organization serves the legal community by providing sources of continuing legal education, establishing standards and guidelines for proper and effective utilization of legal assistants/paralegals by members of the Bar, providing a higher quality of legal services at lower cost to the client, and maintaining the high standards of professional responsibility and conduct imposed upon all members of the Bar.
Palmerton is currently serving a second term as president of COALA. She is also a member of the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA).
