Mary Ellen Ternes, a shareholder with the law firm of McAfee & Taft, has been selected as a fellow of the American College of Environmental Lawyers, a professional association of private sector environmental lawyers recognized by their peers as pre-eminent in their field. Because of her achievements and contributions in environmental law, she was nominated by a founding regent and unanimously endorsed by the current membership for early election to the association.
In her law practice, Ternes represents and counsels clients regarding environmental issues arising under federal and state law involving regulatory, enforcement, transactional and litigation matters. She is also a frequent speaker and author on environmental topics, particularly air and hazardous waste, due diligence, climate change, and nanotechnology. In addition to being named to The Best Lawyers in America, she is also one of only 365 attorneys worldwide to be named to the highly selective International Who’s Who of Environmental Lawyers 2008.
