OK - August 2, 2007McAfee & Taft, Oklahoma’s largest law firm, has named Wendy D. Smith as Director of Human Resources and Recruiting. Her responsibilities include employee staffing and development, employee benefits administration, and coordinating all functions related to the recruitment and orientation of law clerks and new associates.
Smith holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of South Florida and has 10 years of broad-based communications and corporate marketing experience. Prior to joining McAfee & Taft as the firm’s director of recruiting and marketing in 2006, she worked as a communications and event consultant for Verizon Information Technologies, director of communications and membership for Downtown Oklahoma City, Inc., and as the marketing director for an Oklahoma-based home textile design and manufacturing company.
Active in the community, Smith is a volunteer for Rebuilding Together, serves as a tutor at Gatewood Elementary School in Oklahoma City, and is a supporter of the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, an Allied Arts agency.
