All eyes on the sky

August 21, 2017

All eyes were on the mid-day sky on August 21, 2017, as McAfee & Taft attorneys and staff from the Tulsa office headed to the nearest rooftop to enjoy the first coast-to-coast solar eclipse in almost 100 years to make its way across the United States. While Oklahoma wasn’t in the 70-mile-wide path of totality, those wearing special eclipse glasses provided by the firm were able to see more than 88 percent of the moon’s coverage of the sun.

The scene was repeated in Oklahoma City outside Leadership Square, where McAfee & Taft employees were treated to a partial eclipse of nearly 85 percent.
