As a paralegal for the firm’s Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Group, Alessa French provides support to attorneys engaged in all aspects of employee benefits law, with an emphasis on matters involving retirement plan qualifications and design and executive compensation. She also provides assistance in business and transactional matters involving corporate governance and mergers and acquisitions.
Alessa began her legal career in 1996 and, while continuing her legal education, gained experience in family and criminal law offices working on many high-profile cases involving criminal matters in municipal, state and federal courts, including settlement of a wrongful death case in excess of $3 million dollars. She went on to work as a legal administrative assistant for both a mid-sized law firm and the legal department of a publicly held corporation.
Her diverse career experience includes complex business litigation and labor and employment law focused primarily on the defense of employment claims involving Title VII, FMLA, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, and OADA as well as regular employer training on issues such as harassment, drug and alcohol testing, hiring, firing, discipline, wage and hour issues, retaliation, discrimination and accommodation.
Alessa earned her certified legal professional (CLP) and professional paralegal (PP) certifications through NALS, the association for legal professionals. She is a member of NALS®…the association for legal professionals and the Tulsa Area Paralegal Association (TAPA).Download Bio (PDF)
