Overview

As a paralegal with the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources Group, Bella Popowsky provides comprehensive support to trial lawyers whose practices focus on complex business disputes, including class actions, for clients in the energy industry. Her responsibilities include case management, document review and organization, conducting legal and factual research, coordinating and responding to discovery requests, scheduling and summarizing depositions, preparing and filing pleadings and other legal documents, docketing, serving as a liaison with clients and witnesses, preparing exhibits and trial materials, and assisting attorneys throughout trial.

Bella began her legal career in 2017 as a legal secretary for a small Oklahoma-based law firm before earning her bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Oklahoma. She went on to serve as an office manager and legal assistant at a boutique family law practice and later as litigation legal secretary for a large full-service civil firm. Before transitioning into her paralegal role at McAfee & Taft in 2026, she gained extensive experience supporting litigation teams across multiple practice areas, including business, family, insurance defense, and energy litigation.

Outside her work at the firm, Bella remains actively engaged in both professional and community-focused organizations. She is a member of the Central Oklahoma Association of Legal Assistants (COALA) and is commissioned as an Oklahoma Notary Public. Her commitment to service began during her time at the University of Oklahoma, where she held a leadership role supporting major philanthropic initiatives, such as Oklahoma Lawyers for Children and Family and Oklahoma Dance Marathon. Bella is also deeply involved in youth and family ministries at her church, St. Luke’s Methodist, where she teaches Sunday School each week.
