Overview

Camdon Maydew is a trial lawyer whose practice encompasses commercial litigation, complex business litigation, and the defense of national insurance companies in a wide range of coverage disputes, bad faith claims, extra-contractual liability matters, and other complex litigation matters involving insurers and their insureds. He represents clients through all phases of litigation and brings courtroom experience, strong advocacy skills, and a practical approach to dispute resolution, helping clients navigate challenging legal issues.

Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, Camdon served as an assistant city attorney for the City of Garland, Texas, where he advised municipal departments on a broad range of legal matters and served as the city’s contract and procurement specialist. In that role, he drafted, reviewed, negotiated, and enforced agreements ranging from routine interlocal agreements to multimillion-dollar construction contracts. He also provided legal counsel to city personnel, drafted ordinances, conducted legal research, and regularly presented on procurement processes, construction contracts, economic development agreements, statutory requirements, and legal developments.

Earlier in his career, Camdon practiced as an associate attorney with a Texas law firm specializing in family law and personal injury, where he managed an active litigation caseload and gained extensive courtroom experience. He has represented clients in hearings, contested proceedings, and trials, while also advising clients, preparing witnesses, negotiating resolutions, and drafting a variety of pleadings and legal documents.

Camdon graduated cum laude with undergraduate degrees in both political science and criminal justice from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2021 and his Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law in 2024. While in law school, he was a member of the Baylor Law Barrister Society and participated in the Touro University 9th Annual Moot Court Competition and the 2023 Trial and Tribulations Mock Trial Competition hosted by the South Carolina University School of Law.
