Bio overview

Collen Steffen is a transactional lawyer whose practice encompasses a broad range of corporate and business matters, including business entity formation and structuring, contract drafting and negotiations, asset and stock acquisitions and divestitures, mergers, transaction financing, corporate governance and compliance, and the acquisition, sale, development, financing, and leasing of real estate.

Collen also represents clients in transactional matters specific to the banking and energy industries, including oil and gas property sales and acquisitions, leases, development and operating contracts, and exploration, participation, farmout and joint venture agreements.

The Kansas native graduated summa cum laude with his bachelor’s degree in finance from Oklahoma State University in 2016 and with highest honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2019. While in law school, he served as editor-in-chief of the Oklahoma Law Review and was named to the Order of the Coif, Order of the Barristers, and National Order of Scribes. Collen was also the recipient of numerous scholarships and honors, including the Comfort Scholarship, S.T. Bledsoe Memorial Prize, OKC Real Property Lawyers Association Property Award, and seven American Jurisprudence awards for academic excellence.  Prior to graduating, he was honored with the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Outstanding Senior Law School Student Award.

In addition to his private practice, Collen is co-owner of a family-owned natural resources company and co-owner of a human resources consulting company he founded while an undergraduate student at Oklahoma State University.
