As a paralegal for the firm’s worldwide aircraft financing, title and registration practice, Ilaria Capasso works with McAfee & Taft’s aviation attorneys to ensure client interests in aircraft, engines and helicopters are protected and in compliance with both the Federal Aviation Administration and the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Aircraft Protocol. For aircraft registered in the United States, she is responsible for reviewing and abstracting FAA records. Her responsibilities also include assisting clients in
registering all forms of interests with the International Registry of Mobile Assets (IR), which entails requesting and consenting to professional user authority, obtaining priority search certificates from the IR, and revising title memoranda to include current registrations on the IR.
A native of Italy, Ilaria graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in comparative studies from Instituto Universitario Orientale in Naples, Italy, in 2003. Upon moving to Oklahoma in 2006, she worked as a docket clerk for the Oklahoma Corporation Commission before embarking on a career in the legal industry the following year. She joined McAfee & Taft in 2020, bringing with her more than 13 years of experience working for transactional attorneys engaged in all facets of real estate law as well as aircraft sales, leasing, financing, title and registration law.
She is fluent in Italian, English and Japanese and lived for a year in Tokyo, Japan, while an exchange student at Gakushuin University.Download Bio (PDF)
