Scott Henderson is a trial and appellate attorney whose broad-based practice encompasses many facets of commercial and complex business litigation.
Following his graduation from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2005, Scott moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he spent the first eight years of his career primarily defending large insurance carriers and construction companies against personal injury and construction defect claims in the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada as well as state courts in Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City, Elko, and others. While there, he was responsible for a caseload of 65–95 cases, conducted his first arbitration within a month of being licensed in the state, and conducted hundreds of depositions, arbitrations, binding arbitrations, and mediations. His early experience also included serving as first or second chair in jury trials in the areas of contracts, water gathering systems, personal injury defense, and civil contempt, as well as arguing before many administrative tribunals in the areas of employment discrimination, wrongful termination, and payment of overtime and employee wages.
Upon returning to his home state of Oklahoma in 2014, Scott began to focus his practice primarily on commercial litigation, estate planning, and real estate. He primarily represents commercial clients, general and subcontractors, and individuals in his current practice. Scott also has several clients who rely on him for advice, drafting, representation at hearings, and general counseling in employment law. He has formed many entities on behalf of clients and has guided companies through organizational structure changes. Additionally, he has represented heirs, personal representatives, and creditors in contested probate proceedings. Scott also represents trustees and trusts in trust and estate litigation.
Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, Scott was a litigator with Blaney Tipton Hiersche & Odom, PLLC in Oklahoma City.
