Jennie Burger serves as a paralegal with the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, where her responsibilities include preparing and filing U.S. and foreign patent applications and related documents, trademark applications, patent and trademark responses, renewals, and copyright applications; handling maintenance fee payments for U.S. patents and annuities for foreign patents and applications; preparing and reviewing intellectual property agreements; and providing paralegal support for intellectual property litigation filed in both federal court and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Jennie began her legal career in 2016 working in the specialized field of patent prosecution for two international law firms in Washington, D.C. Prior to moving back to Oklahoma City in 2019, she worked as a U.S. patent prosecution specialist with Arent Fox and as an IP applications and formalities specialist for Crowell & Moring. While in Washington, she gained valuable experience filing U.S. patent applications and accompanying formalities documents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, preparing responses to various USPTO notices, creating and filing information disclosure statements, communicating with patent examiners, and drafting and filing substitute statements, assignments, declarations, and other related documents.
Jennie graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma with her bachelor’s degree degree in international security studies. She is conversational in Arabic.
In her free time, Jennie enjoys travelling, playing soccer, and hanging out with friends at the pool.
