As a certified paralegal with the firm’s Intellectual Property Group, Keli Ewing’s responsibilities include preparing and filing U.S. and foreign patent applications, trademark applications, patent and trademark responses, renewals, and copyright applications; handling maintenance fee payments for U.S. patents and annuities for foreign patents and applications; coordinating and preparing documents for intellectual property litigation in both federal court and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; preparing and reviewing intellectual property agreements; and handling research projects relating to all aspects of intellectual property law.
Keli earned her paralegal certification (CP) through the National Association of Legal Assistants and a paralegal certificate from the University of Tulsa. She also holds an associate of applied science degree in photography technology from Oklahoma State University.
Since embarking on her legal career in 2008, Keli has gained valuable experience in a number of practice areas, including civil litigation, commercial litigation, insurance defense, employment law and litigation, business real estate transactions, zoning and land use, and oil and gas litigation. Prior to joining McAfee & Taft, she worked as a certified paralegal for a boutique intellectual property firm.
