Overview

Kody Hicks is a trial lawyer whose broad-based civil litigation practice involves the representation of clients in complex business litigation and the defense of national insurance companies against claims of bad faith, breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and negligent underwriting, as well as coverage disputes involving a broad range of insurance policies, including auto, life, property, and commercial liability. His work encompasses all stages of civil litigation, with a focus on conducting legal research and writing.

The Oklahoma native graduated with honors from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 2024 and was named to the Order of the Coif. While pursuing his degree, he served as the symposium editor of the Oil and Gas, Natural Resources, and Energy Journal and as president of the Oil and Gas, Natural Resources and Energy Society, was the recipient of the Rayburn L. Foster Memorial Scholarship, and earned American Jurisprudence Awards in Contracts and Civil Pretrial Litigation for outstanding academic achievement. He also worked as a legal intern for the Oklahoma City Afghan Legal Network, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting more than 1,800 metro-area Afghans obtain asylum following their emergency evacuation from their home country in 2022, for a year.

Prior to entering law school in 2021, Kody worked as a public insurance adjuster for a North Carolina-based company for more than two years.
