
As a paralegal for the firm’s intellectual property group, Marcy Ellington is responsible for preparing and filing U.S. and foreign patent applications, trademark applications, trademark responses, trademark renewals, and copyright applications; handling maintenance fee payments for U.S. patents and annuities for foreign patents and applications; preparing state trademark registrations; coordinating and preparing documents for intellectual property litigation in both federal court and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office; and handling research projects relating to all aspects of intellectual property law.
Marcy began her legal career in 1989 and has decades of experience working in the specialized fields of intellectual property law and litigation. Her prior career experience also includes working as civil litigation paralegal in private practice, a legal assistant for a national law firm representing the trucking industry, a county administrator for the Oklahoma Farm Bureau, and a deputy for both the Pushmataha County (OK) Clerk’s Office and Pushmataha County Treasurer’s Office.
Marcy studied business administration and management at Oklahoma State University and has participated in continuing education courses in the area of intellectual property. She also holds an insurance customer service license from the State of Oklahoma.
