As a paralegal for McAfee & Taft’s worldwide aircraft financing, title and registration practice, Tonya Butler works directly with the firm’s aviation attorneys to ensure their clients’ interests in aircraft, engines and helicopters are protected and in compliance with the Federal Aviation Administration procedures and the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and the Aircraft Protocol. Her responsibilities examining FAA and International Registry records and closing aircraft transactions. Her practice also includes corresponding with involved parties to resolve document issues, drafting documents, and generally facilitating aircraft closings.
Tonya joined McAfee & Taft in 2021, bringing with her nearly 19 years’ experience working in the aircraft title and escrow industry in Oklahoma City. She began her career as an escrow assistant in 2002 before transitioning to work as a documentation specialist and then later as an escrow agent and senior title examiner. Her career experience includes working as an expeditor at the Federal Aviation Administration’s Public Documents Room as well as conducting title searches of specific aircraft, helicopters and engines at the International Registry and completing IR filings for escrow closings.
Over the course of her career handling a high volume of electronic and printed documents and client communications, Tonya has developed a keen eye for detail as well as strong administrative, time management, and interpersonal skills.Download Bio (PDF)
