
Virginia Coates serves as a paralegal for trial lawyers engaged in the representation of some of the nation’s largest manufacturers of consumer and commercial products in high-stakes product liability, mass torts, class action, and multidistrict litigation. Her responsibilities include conducting research, coordinating and managing discovery, maintaining litigation files, document management, scheduling and summarizing depositions, filing pleadings, preparing and organizing documents and exhibits for trial, and assisting lawyers at trial.
Virginia joined McAfee & Taft in 2018, bringing with her years of valuable knowledge and experience in the areas of intellectual property law and litigation, insurance defense, and business and commercial litigation. Earlier on in her career, she served as an executive assistant to the vice president of enrollment management at Oklahoma State University and as a research assistant in the research and special collections department at the Boston Public Library Copley Square.
The Savannah, Georgia, native holds a bachelor’s degree from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts.
