Breaking: Federal contractor vaccine mandate on hold nationwide for now

published in McAfee & Taft EmployerLINC Alert | December 7, 2021

Just yesterday, we provided employers with an update on the various legal challenges across the country to the three federal vaccine mandates – the CMS vaccine mandate for the healthcare industry, the OSHA ETS vaccination-or-test mandate for private employers with 100 or more employees, and the federal contractor vaccine mandate. As of yesterday, the federal contractor vaccine mandate had only been stayed in three states: Kentucky, Ohio, and Tennessee. Today, December 7, 2021, a Georgia federal judge stayed the federal contractor vaccine mandate on a nationwide basis.   For now, the January 18, 2022 vaccine deadline for all federal contractors is on hold.

We will continue to monitor the litigation affecting all three federal vaccine mandates and provide updates.
