Center for American and International Law elects McAfee & Taft’s Mark Christiansen secretary
The Board of Trustees for the Dallas-based Center for American and International Law, which sponsors one of the two largest energy industry lawyers groups in the United States, has elected Mark D. Christiansen of McAfee & Taft to succeed Kenneth L. Stewart, managing partner of Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP, as the new secretary of the Center. David J. Beck of the law firm of Beck Redden in Houston, TX, and Harriet E. Miers of the Dallas, TX, office of Locke Lord were elected as chair and vice chair, respectively.
Christiansen is one of the region’s most experienced oil and gas lawyers and the co-leader of McAfee & Taft’s Energy and Oil & Gas Group. He widely regarded for his experience in handling complex energy lawsuits as well as serving in leadership roles in the industry’s leading energy litigation and energy law groups and legal conferences. He is the current co-chair of the 12th Annual Energy Litigation Conference presented by the Institute for Energy Law, an educational institute of the Center for American and International Law and one of the world’s oldest continuing legal education providers.
