EmployerLINC 2023 earns rave reviews for ‘sold out’ movie-themed, employer-focused events

With more than 1,000 HR and benefits professionals, in-house counsel, business owners, and executives registered, EmployerLINC 2023: HR in Reel Life, McAfee & Taft’s labor, employment and employee benefits seminar, once again attracted a “sold out” crowd in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The full-day seminar was held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City on March 29th and at the Renaissance Hotel and Convention Center in Tulsa on March 30th. This year’s movie-themed event shined the spotlight on trending topics affecting today’s ever-changing workplace and featured two crossover sessions in which employment lawyers and employee benefits lawyers teamed up to tackle the complex issues of recruiting, retaining and terminating employees during times of economic uncertainty and handling various types of leaves of absence.

Hosted by the Labor and Employment Group, the five morning sessions featured:

  • In a Location Far, Far Away:  Common (But Often Forgotten) Remote Work Risks, presented by Nathan Whatley in Oklahoma City, and Charlie Plumb and McKenzie Ryan in Tulsa.
  • Do or Do Not, There is No Try:  Getting the FLSA Right, featuring Paige Good and Alyssa Lankford in Oklahoma City, and Harrison Kosmider and Kirk Turner in Tulsa.
  • Top Gun:  Restrictive Covenants and Retaining “the Best of the Best,” presented by Paul Ross in Oklahoma City and Courtney Bru in Tulsa.
  • Honey, I Shrunk the Workforce:  Navigating Workplace Issues and Benefits During Economic Uncertainty, presented by Judy Burdg with Roberta Fields in Oklahoma City and with Jake Crawford in Tulsa.
  • The Incredibles:  Labor & Employment “Ask the Experts” Panel, moderated by Mike Lauderdale with Kate Dodoo, Tony Puckett and Kristin Simpsen in Oklahoma City, and by Kirk Turner with Courtney Bru and Charlie Plumb in Tulsa.

Hosted by the Employee Benefits Group, the afternoon sessions featured:
