EmployerLINC18: Labor, Employment and Employee Benefits Seminar (Oklahoma City)
From the #MeToo movement and federal tax reform to dramatic shifts in policy under the Trump administration, many of the trending topics that make national news eventually find their way into the local workplace. At EmployerLINC18, McAfee & Taft’s annual labor, employment and employee benefits seminar, our attorneys will take a look beyond the headlines and focus on how those issues impact employers.
Hosted by McAfee & Taft’s Labor and Employment Group, the morning session will begin with an hour-long presentation that explores the very real challenges associated with responding to sexual harassment claims in two important but very different arenas — the court of legal opinion and the court of public opinion. Joining McAfee & Taft lawyers in the discussion is Karen Wicker, a veteran public relations professional and president of Candor PR. Other topics include:
- ADA Reasonable Accommodations: Extended leave, service animals and other tricky issues
- Can You Keep a Secret? Employer remedies under the Defend Trade Secrets Act
Hosted by McAfee & Taft’s Employee Benefits Group, the afternoon session will include a presentation designed to assist employer-sponsors of retirement plans in making sure their 401(k) audits run more smoothly. Joining McAfee & Taft lawyers in the discussion is special guest Gwen Bryant, leader of HoganTaylor‘s Employee Benefit Plan practice. Other topics include:
- The ACA Lives, Lessons Learned in 2017, and Current Health Plan Trends
- Welcome Relief in Recent Tax Legislation and Regulations
Both the morning and afternoon sessions will conclude with all-star panels of attorneys answering your most frequently asked questions about trending labor, employment and employee benefits issues. To submit a question for possible consideration, please use the space provided in the online event registration form.
There is no cost to attend this seminar, but registration is required.
