Fair Labor Standards Act

Central Oklahoma Human Resources Association Meeting

The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) was passed in 1938, but even today employers have difficulty negotiating certain areas of the statute.  Not only does the law contain some complex language, but numerous court interpretations and extensive regulations issued by the Department of Labor frequently add to the confusion.  With the Department of Labor stepping up its enforcement activities, maintaining compliance is more important than ever.

In his presentation before the Central Oklahoma Human Resource Association, labor and employment attorney Tony Puckett provides an update on recent developments in wage and hour law, addresses issues that often trip up employers, and offers best practices for maintaining compliance.

The COHRA, which is an association of HR professionals in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and surrounding communities, is an affiliate of the national Society for Human Resource Management, the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management.
