Firm hosts networking event for Hispanic students from OCU and OU Law

McAfee & Taft attorney Maria Gonzalez hosted Hispanic and Latinx law students from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and Oklahoma City University’s School of Law for an enriching evening of discussion and networking. The event was held October 24th and sponsored by McAfee & Taft, Conner & Winters, and The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA).

Oklahoma State Senator Michael Brooks-Jimenez, an attorney who represents Southwest Oklahoma City with its growing Hispanic population, was the featured speaker. Invited guests also included local attorneys representing the spectrum of practice areas and legal careers. 

HNBA represents the interests of more than 65,000 Hispanic attorneys, judges, law professors, legal assistants, law students, and legal professionals in the United States and its territories. Since 1972, the association has worked to bring positive change within the legal profession by creating opportunities for Hispanic lawyers and helping generations of lawyers to succeed. HNBA has also effectively advocated on issues of importance to the national Hispanic community.
