Ginger Schones honored as COALA 2018 Paralegal of the Year
McAfee & Taft litigation paralegal Ginger Schones was honored as “Paralegal of the Year” by the Central Oklahoma Association of Legal Assistants at its 2018 attorney/ paralegal recognition luncheon held at the Sheraton Oklahoma City Downtown Hotel on June 8, 2018.
The annual award honors an outstanding COALA member who best exemplifies the organization’s high standards for professionalism, work ethic, and legal skills and knowledge.
“Ginger is the epitome of a hard-working professional who consistently goes above and beyond to take on increasing responsibility, expand her skill sets, and master new subjects for the benefit of our clients,” said McAfee & Taft trial lawyer Jeff Todd. “While her hard work and dedication have earned her widespread respect throughout the firm, it’s gratifying to know that her talent and efforts are appreciated and recognized throughout the larger legal community as well.”
Schones began her legal career in 1990 and joined McAfee & Taft in 2003. She currently provides comprehensive paralegal support for attorneys engaged in the practice of complex business litigation, including disputes involving condemnation and landowner rights, federal crop insurance, real estate, healthcare, environmental, and business contracts.
In addition to providing a forum of communication, support, assistance and continuing education for legal assistants, COALA establishes standards and guidelines for the proper and effective utilization of legal assistants by members of the Bar to provide a higher quality of legal services at a lower cost to the client.
