Jennifer H. Callahan, co-chair of McAfee & Taft’s Agriculture and Equine Industry Group, was honored as the 2020 Oklahoma Agricultural Woman of the Year at the annual Diamond Hats Gala held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on September 26, 2020.

Formed in 2005, Diamond Hats is comprised of women from across Oklahoma who are united in their efforts to promote the state’s youth as their pursue their agricultural endeavors.  Their fundraising efforts support scholarships, mentoring programs, and the Oklahoma Youth Expo, known as “The World’s Largest Junior Livestock Show.”

“Jennifer has always been very dedicated to youth and to agriculture,” said Tyler Norvell, executive director of the Oklahoma Youth Expo (OYE).  “ This year more than ever, that was evident in her tireless efforts to help young people still have the opportunity to exhibit their livestock during this pandemic in a safe environment.  Many of the livestock shows that have taken place in Oklahoma would not have been possible without her.”

“I can’t imagine anyone more deserving of this award,” said attorney Jeff Todd, who co-founded and co-leads the firm’s growing Agriculture and Equine Industry Group with Callahan.  “Jennifer has tremendous depth and experience in agriculture issues and is actively and directly involved in the industry.  She is a champion of Oklahoma agriculture and agriculture interests and donates a lot of her personal time and efforts in supporting youth in agriculture.”
