At The Podium
I-9 Compliance
On July 17, 2017, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) released a revised version of the Form I-9 that all employers must complete and retain for every new employee hired.
Speaking at the Tulsa Equal Employment Opportunity Coordinators Association’s June 2018, meeting, McAfee & Taft labor and employment attorney Courtney Bru reviews employers’ primary responsibilities for completing and retaining I-9 forms, provides an overview of the E-Verify process, and offers best practices for establishing a uniform I-9 process. The presentation includes a discussion of how and why employers should conduct a self-audit of their employment verification processes and what steps should be taken if an I-9 is found to have incomplete or incorrect information.
TEEOCA provides resources, including education, training and networking opportunities, for professionals who have responsibility for assuring compliance with federal and state laws relating to Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action.
