Benchmark Litigation gives McAfee & Taft top marks, singles out 10 firm attorneys for recognition

December 1, 2010

McAfee & Taft earned top marks in the 2011 edition of Benchmark Litigation, the definitive guide to America’s leading business litigation firms and attorneys. In addition, 10 of the firm’s attorneys – the most of any law firm in Oklahoma – were singled out for recognition.

Top-ranked in Oklahoma, McAfee & Taft was recognized as “highly recommended,” reserved for those firms receiving the most mentions by peers and clients, and who were held as dominant in their particular jurisdiction.

Named as “local litigation stars” were Joseph Bocock, John Burkhardt, John Hermes, John Kenney, Charles Plumb, Reid Robison, Spencer Smith, Jeff Todd and James Webb. Benchmark recognizes “local litigation stars” as those attorneys “who were consistently recommended as incontrovertible stars by clients and peers.” Attorneys who were consistently recommended by peer partners, competitors and clients as litigators who are likely to appear as local litigation stars in coming editions were recognized as “future stars.” Benchmark named McAfee & Taft’s Michael McClintock to this year’s “future stars” list.

Benchmark focuses on the U.S. litigation market, with a research team conducting face-to-face interviews around the country with leading legal professionals, in-house counsel and business owners. It is the only guide that does not classify litigation attorneys by strict practice areas, instead pinpointing the best all around “bet-the-company” trial attorneys.

McAfee & Taft is Oklahoma’s largest law firm, serving clients throughout the region and nationally in the areas of aviation, business law, corporate and securities, employee benefits, energy, entertainment, environmental law, healthcare, intellectual property, labor and employment, litigation, real estate, and tax and family wealth. The firm employs 300 Oklahomans, including 165 attorneys, in its Oklahoma City Tulsa and Oklahoma City offices.
