Speaking before the Oklahoma State University student branch of the IEEE in Stillwater, Oklahoma, attorney Sasha Beling provides an overview of patents, trade secrets, copyrights and trademarks and provides students with insights as to how they can use their electrical engineering degrees to pursue careers in the field of intellectual property.  Topics include:

  • Encountering intellectual property issues in the engineering workplace
  • Career opportunities as patent examiners, patent agents and patent attorneys
  • How to become an expert witness

Beling is a 2006 honors graduate of Oklahoma State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and was a member of the Eta Kappa Nu electrical engineering honor society.

The OSU student branch of the IEEE exists to educate students and interested parties on aspects of electrical and computer engineering.  Its parent organization, the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, is the largest technical organization in the world and is dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence.
